Air shipment

He realized air shipment was drying the bread. And he couldn’t believe cooks didn’t know about the finely chopped onion or the peeled and cubed turnips his mother used. But they did cook with salt and olive oil. Some added chopped cloves of garlic and cinnamon. Others preferred cumin and black pepper. The ravens even brought him beef cooked in red wine and honey. “I should have paid better attention when Mother tried to teach me spice names.” But his tongue sorted flavors well enough that he started thinking of the families who cooked these as the Garlics, the Peppers, and the Honeywines. He ate it all and learned to appreciate the variety.
