Temple Mount, Western Wall Tunnels, Via Dolorosa and Church of the Holy Sepulcher, City of David, Tombs of the Kings, Hezekiah’s Tunnel, Pool of Siloam
We tour the Temple Mount, where Solomon, Ezra, and Herod built up and the Romans tore down. We see how the nation of Jordan administers the site today. And we speculate about a future temple.
We enter the Western Wall Tunnels. The exposed portion of the Western Wall is approximately 200 feet long; the tunnel provides access to an additional 1,591 ft. of ancient wall. Almost 150 ft. into the tunnel we find a sealed entrance to a small synagogue known as “The Cave,” the closest approach to the Holy of Holies.
Some of us wade through the flowing waters of King Hezekiah’s tunnel, which Jesus called the Pool of Siloam.
In the Gloria Hotel we dream of Jesus making mud with his spit, putting it on a man’s eyes, and telling him to wash in the Pool of Siloam.
